Plot
It is the story of an architect Amay Mehta, a diligent bachelor who resides in Mumbai. He desires to present his designs to his boss, but he holds back every time as he was short of confidence or because his work did not have something. His girlfriend Zara tells him that he does not need to worry as she is confident that he is among the best in their company. One day, he gets a letter from his sister informing him that their mother passed away. He goes to his home town to pay last respects. After his darling wife’s demise, he was unable to tolerate his father Mr Shiv Mehta who was set to leave for USA along with his daughter. But his journey was postponed by two days, and they both landed in Mumbai. Amay’s sister, before she leaves, persuades Amay and Shiv to work together for the next 48 hours. Shiv is shifted to Amay’s residence only to find that his living situation is worse because he is ambitious but his working style damaged his family and personal life, both of them fight with one another regarding sleeping on sofa or bed. Amay wished to look after his father and Shiv wished to make his son settle down comfortably so that he could work properly, but the problem worsened when Shiv’s childlike and disobedient nature affected Amay’s temper like him placing his hand on car’s hand brake, helping himself to pull luggage. One evening the father-son’s drinking conversation turns into a fight when Shiv assaults Amay’s line of work as an architect. Shiv desired to see Zara so they decided to have a dinner where Shiv’s stubborn nature didn’t permit Amay to pay the bill as the treat was on him but yet Amay ends up paying the bill, realizing this he angrily gets up and leaves but leaves behind his bag with passport and ticket. On his return, Amay’s vehicle nearly gets crushed when he applies the handbrake. This time he couldn’t help but yell at his father and they both had an argument where his father told him that the life is not complete without family, whom he had left behind for a better life but got nothing, this was the main reason why they both hadn’t spoken for a long. After he departed, Shiv met a woman who he took as his wife and trailed after her but had an accident. Upon hearing that, Amay hurried to the hospital where he arrived to find Zara, blaming him, stating that you’re the son, you have some duty for your father. The story ended when Amay showed his project to his team explaining that changing to western architecture is not appropriate and changing our culture to West is wrong. His proposal was finally accepted, he went to his hometown where he appreciated his father that you’re scolding was nothing but a lesson. A father doesn’t scold his child but rather tries to give them a lesson but a child doesn’t understand that. They both go to the airport, waving goodbye to each other.
